NOVEMBER - DECEMBER E-NEWSLETTER

The Holidays are approaching...

This is a great time to help out the District. The District is now participating in the Country Care program through Country Supply.  For all orders placed on the Country Supply website, they will donate 5% of the order (excluding shipping & wormers) back to our association. Simply enter nbha-ca07 as the Country Care code when placing your order and we will receive the 5%.  Country Supply has great prices and shipping is free on all orders over $49.  Just click on the icon below to start earning money for NBHA CA07!

Country Supply Country Care

Out of 2008 and on to 2009!

After many encouraging conversations, many requests (and some begging!) from District 7 members, as well as your dedication to making 2008 successful, I am happy to let everyone know that I will continue as District Director. It makes a huge difference when everyone steps up to the plate to help out and it is much appreciated!

There are lots of fun things planned for 2009 and our calendar has opened for bookings. To make sure that our members in the northern part of the District are able to participate, we will be sanctioning three races up there in 2009. One, the Fortuna jackpot has already been booked and two additional date requests are coming. The Friday Night Russian River Rodeo Opener jackpot has been confirmed along with dates in July, August and September.

Many of you have inquired about the Winter Series and I am working with the Sonoma County Fair Board to see if we can again work out an arrangement to mutually benefit both parties. Have your pooper-scoopers ready – this is once again a very strong bargaining chip in our favor. The Winter Series will be by pre-entry only again this year.

The 2009 Year-End Awards and Finals program has been reviewed and approved. See below….

2009 Year-End Awards Program

  • The competition year begins on January 1, 2009 and ends with the last scheduled, NBHA sanctioned District Race (date and location to be determined).
  • Members must participate in a minimum of six (6) District events* to participate in the 2009 Year-End Awards Program AND provide one $100 District Sponsor – Sponsor fees due on or before September 1, 2009.
  • Members with multiple horses must fulfill the requirements for each horse.
  • Members running in multiple classes (Open, Youth, Senior, Novice) must fulfill the requirements for each class.
  • Points will be awarded as outlined in the NBHA Rulebook.
  • A minimum of eight District events will be held in 2009. Double qualifying races may be held at the Directors discretion.
  • Year-End Awards will be presented at the Year-end Awards Banquet to be held at Cattleman’s Restaurant in Petaluma (date and time to be determined).
  • Awards go to the member with the highest number of points in the highest division. EX: Sally has 5 Open 1D points, 13 Open 2D points and 7 Open 3D points. Sally will receive the award for the Open 2D division.

NOTE: While it will no longer be required to participate in District Fundraisers, such as the $500 Raffle and Silent Auction, the proceeds from these fundraisers supplement the awards fund. The more money in the awards fund, the bigger and better the awards and more added money at District finals.

2009 District Finals

  • District Finals will be open to all District members in good standing with NBHA who have participated in a minimum of six (6) sanctioned District events*.
  • A minimum of eight District events will be held in 2009. Double qualifying races may be held at the Directors discretion.
  • The date, time and location of District Finals will be determined at a later date.
  • Because District Finals are not open to NBHA members outside of District CA07, it will not be a sanctioned event. No points will be awarded for standings at District Finals.

*this is consistent with the qualifications for 2009 NBHA California State Championships.
Looking forward to a fun 2009 season!
Best Wishes for a Safe and Happy Holiday Season,
Stacie
